Polyken Probe Tack Tester
The PT-1000 Polyken™ Probe Tack Testers, manufactured by ChemInstruments, Inc.,
are designed to measure the tack of pressure sensitive adhesives. A precision ground
5.0 mm diameter, flat probe contacts the adhesive, reverses direction and pulls
away from the adhesive. The maximum force required to break the adhesive bond is
recorded and displayed. These instrument meet the standards set forth in ASTM D2979.
- Probe diameter of 5mm and an annular ring weight that applies 9.79 ± 0.10
kPa of force
- Machine speed is 24" / min. (61 cm/min)
- Automatically designed test cycle produces one second dwell time from beginning
of contact to end of contact.
PT-1000
- 5 lb (2 Kg) Load Cell permits a wide variety of adhesives to be tested.
- Data can be downloaded through:
- Accurate to ±0.1% of load cell range.
Data Acquisition System
The ChemInstruments EZ-100 Data Acquisition System is a state-of-the-art force
measurement package that combines accuracy with ease of use. This system reads the
force of a test, digitally displays it and also stores that value in it's memory.
- Displays the measured force in Average, High and Low values.
- Stores data from up to 20 individual tests, which allows the technician
to review previously recorded values.
- Data is stored in ASCII format and can be exported by the standard RS-232
serial connection to a local PC.
- Display values are selectable in grams, kilograms, ounces, pounds or Newtons.
- Records 400 data points per second of sampling.
EZ-Lab Compatible
Remote operation control and enhanced data collection are possible when coupled
with the EZ-Lab System. Requires external PC. See EZ-Lab
